Sex Life of an Avocado

Overnight sex change takes place during the flowering season. One day the female part of the flower is flaunting herself to attract bees, the next day the male anthers of that same flower do their part in spreading the pollen. A tree can produce hundreds of flowers, each undertaking this rather unusual 2-day cycle.
